1. Unboxing and Initial Setup

The first step is verifying your device's physical integrity and installing the necessary Trezor Suite software.

📦 Verify & Connect

Carefully inspect the packaging for any signs of tampering. Connect your Trezor device to your computer using the provided USB cable.

Check the **hologram** or seal.
Use a **trusted computer** for the setup.

💻 Install Trezor Suite

Download the official **Trezor Suite** desktop application directly from the official Trezor website. **Never** use third-party links.

Verify the URL in your browser.

2. Firmware Installation and Wallet Creation

The Trezor Suite will guide you through the firmware update and the critical wallet creation process.

⚙️ Install Firmware

If prompted, install the latest official firmware. This must be done on the device, confirmed on the screen, and verified by the Suite.

🚨 Warning: A genuine Trezor never comes with pre-installed firmware.

🔑 Create a New Wallet

Choose "Create new wallet" when prompted. This is the only way to generate a new, unique, and secure set of keys.

Select "Standard" or "Hidden" (Passphrase) wallet setup.

3. Crucial Security: Recovery Seed

Your **Recovery Seed** (a 12, 18, or 24-word list) is the master backup of your entire wallet. This is the **most important** step.

📝 Absolute Rule: Your Recovery Seed must **NEVER** be digitally recorded (photo, email, cloud, computer). Write it down on the provided paper card.

✍️ Write Down the Seed

The words will be displayed on your Trezor device screen. Write them down in order, using the provided Recovery Seed card.

Use a pen and write clearly.
Double-check the spelling of each word.

🔒 Store Securely

Store your seed in a secure, fireproof, and waterproof location that only you know. It should be separated from your actual Trezor device.

Consider a metal backup for extreme durability.
Keep multiple copies in different secure locations.

💡 Tip: A second, optional layer of security is the **Passphrase (Hidden Wallet)**. This creates a separate wallet only accessible with a custom password you choose.

4. PIN Protection and First Use

The PIN protects your Trezor device from unauthorized physical access.

🔢 Set a Strong PIN

You will choose a PIN by clicking positions on the computer screen that correspond to the numbers shown on your Trezor device.

The PIN pattern changes every time for security.
Choose a PIN of 4 to 9 digits.

💸 Receiving Your First Coin

In Trezor Suite, navigate to the desired coin's account, click 'Receive', and generate a new address. **Always verify the receiving address** on your Trezor device screen before sending funds.
